First Step
First Step
I have decided to keep this blog to help me keep track of what it like for this year, and hopefully for years to come. This year we are in COVID-19 and students are learning online. This is my first year as a librarian for Long Beach Unified School District. So far in the month that I have been in school I love working with the two schools that I have been assigned to, Burbank and Garfield. Both staffs seem easy going and just want what's best for the kids. I love that once I am done for the day I am done.
I am also finishing up my second to last semester on my master's program, crossing my fingers. Both classes have tons of reading and writing. So having that ability to leave work and becoming a student is great. I have found some great people to work with in both of my classes. Some of them are the old crew like Trevor, but a lot are new.
Brian is finishing up his online certification class on medical coding. We both can't wait for him to be done and get a job.
Being home so much means that I am spending A LOT of time with the dogs. So much that I have to close myself off in the craft room, my 2nd office. I love having lunch with all of the dogs. I love coming out when I have a break to see them so excited to see me.
I have been giving myself grace and self-care. These have been needed and useful. This weekend I meditated with one of my favorite friends, Amy. Today I did some reading and watched the Chargers football game until I ended up falling asleep. Yeah, it wasn't very entertaining. I also spent yesterday afternoon and today working in the backyard.
Time to start my week.
